Pip pip tally ho and all that!

Projects

This page is here to list all of the projects I have worked on, whether they are incoming, ongoing, completed or hit permanent hiatus (quite a lot can quite easily miss out the middle two). Each contains all the important information and if necessary, links to more information if you're interested

The Cannon

No cannons here, just other stuff

"The Cannon" is an Xbox Live Indie Game that I am currently developing, that I have been working on since April 09, with hiatuses for general uni stuff

The game plays roughly as follows: You have a cannon in the centre of the screen and the objective is to survive! You have Ninjas, Monkeys, Pirates, etc... running towards you and you need to make sure they don't have the chance to hurt you! At your disposal you have fireballs, ice shards, electricity and vines. Each attack does different things to each enemy so use them strategically and don't overuse just one or you'll run out of power!

Is it Better with Bacon?

Not one for vegitarians, sorry

Me and my friend Jon have started a sciency web-series testing foodstuffs to see what goes well with bacon. We've been testing all sorts of random things (edible things) and there have been some surprising results. New videos are released every wednesday (of course, as always, my release schedule isn't perfect).

It's pretty low budget and quality, but hey, it was a bit of fun to do and it's the first time we've done something like this. There's still some episodes left that we've already filmed and once those are up, we'll see whether we make some more or try something else

Achievement Hunter

Cow Tipping Shenanigans

Since it was released, I have been producing videos for the Community Hunter part of Achievement Hunter on Rooster Teeth. I aim to make my videos as amusing as possible while still getting the achievement. I try to focus on the more fun achievements to get, so that the videos themselves are fun to watch, even if my commentary is poor

Because of this, I have mostly focused on several achievements in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts as the tone of the game suits it. I have also tried to get achievements in different ways from normal in GRiD and Halo 3 (the later currently having no footage)

I continue to produce videos in my holidays, but will be wrapping up Banjo Kazooie with only one more video. In the future, games may include PGR4, Flock and N+. However, these are open to change and I haven't decided anything specific for the next batch.

Below are links to all of my videos that I've produced which I'm happy with:
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts: BBQ Beef
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts: Head for heights
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts: Massive Damage, Test Your Strength and Great Balls of Fire
GRiD: Back to Front

Secret Projects

I will almost always be working on one or two secret projects, for one of various reasons. I might feel it best not to announce a larger project so that I don't feel so pressured to finish it (conversely, this also allows me to quietly sweep it under the carpet if everything goes horribly wrong). It might be that I'm working with someone else, who should be the one who announces it as opposed to me. Finally, there may be the case that I just don't think that there's any point telling anyone, as there's no reason to get fussed if I've not finished and therefore have nothing to show for it

I will however confirm that I am currently working on two projects that I would class as secret and for two seperate reasons from above

Zelda 2d: The Other Side

We're working on it

Zelda 2D is an example of a huge project of mine that never got anywhere. The concept was to create a side-on Zelda game in flash, akin to Adventure of Link, but with better fighting. The game would've spanned multiple chapters, with cut-scene movies in between. The picture to the left is an example of the artwork I was aiming at in the cutscenes and that particular piece is probably one of the best things I've drawn to date

The game itself was also designed with huge scope in mind, I attempted to include every item from Twilight Princess (as the storyline followed a couple of years afterwards) and then include new ones as well. One of my favourite ideas was that I had made it so that sword strikes were based on where you clicked the mouse. For example if the mouse clicked in front of link, he stabbed, in front and low, a slash, in front and up high, an uppercut and so on...

However, the project ran into several problems. Due to my lack of experience programming in flash, the game started becoming messy and hard to add things too, with elements of slowdown. I also felt it was necessary to keep updating the graphics ( a bit like Duke Nukem Forever)

The project is essentially cancelled, don't expect anything more from this, especially as I try to rely far more on my own (i.e. not Nintendo's) ideas these days

Team Chupathingy

Pose as a team, because shit just got real

The team which all my grifball playing has revolved around. Created for the Winter League 08 (the first public grifball league run by rooster teeth), it then consisted of myself, Jon (Kinross, either of the names you may see mentioned elsewhere on the site because he still helps me with various projects) and my flatmate. Some scouting led to finding a final team member by the name of Mike, who we choose because "he was British". Generally the team performed well and still retains myself, Jon and Mike as players. Our current 4th player, Orchid Samurai, helped us to our first British League victory.

I guess it's a bit of a stretch to call this a project, but it's taken up a fair bit of my time in the past (I was also Commisioner for two of the grifball leagues). I'm no longer active in grifball now and the team's fully dissolved since an unsuccesful reunion attempt, but am still up for the occassional game on reach (if I actually have Live and am not crippled by uni restrictions)
